Kudos all around. Andrew for deciding to do it, the shopkeeper for pitching in her own money to help out, and our rabbit-eared friend for keeping Andrew’s secret.
Why do I get a sinister feeling from the guy in the last panel? You know the guy with the bushy beard and glasses on his hat.
He definitely seems suspicious!
This brings back memories of my son when he was around that age… he did the same thing a few times. Instead of buying goodies for himself he bought something for the young children that slept in the park (they and their parents were obviously homeless and were often seen dumpster diving). And just as coincidental… my son’s name is Andrew 🙂

The red-headed kid got some bread, too. Really.

That just looks like red licorice. It’s really high protein candied worms. 😉
Ya’ gotta love that Andrew kid. He did a few years worth of growing up in under 10 minutes.

That’s a great kid…

Andrew has a heart of gold.

An entire boatload of sweetness would seem microscopic in comparison to what Andrew just evoked here.

I knew that Rhen wouldn’t ruin Andrew, at least I hoped.

I would consider myself a hundred times richer if I had a boy like Andrew ♥

At least for one night some kids are a little happier. ALWAYS a good thing. 🙂

In some of my RPGs, that would be considered ‘building influences and contacts’.

I’m pretty sure any NPC can be bought off with candy.
April 26, 2013 at 2:14 pm
Indeed. THIS was glorious!
April 26, 2013 at 9:58 pm
I just thought of this. why did that candy shop sell bread?
April 26, 2013 at 10:07 pm
It’s actually a general store, and many general stores used to carry a lot of penny candy.

It reminds me of Olsen’s Mercantile from Little House on the Prairie. Although, the clerk is a whole lot more like Mr. Olsen than Mrs. Olsen..

Is there a steampunk gnome in the bottom right corner of the last picture?
April 27, 2013 at 9:20 am
Maybe they have Travelocity in Belatyr?
April 27, 2013 at 6:31 pm
That figure is distinctly gnomish . . .

All-in-all, a good day. 😀
